In the early ‘50’s, Jean Green and her parents, Barbara and Milton McGreevy, who was a trustee of the Nelson-Atkins, were traveling in Europe when a London art dealer showed them the painting that would become one of the Nelson-Atkins’ greatest treasures. Listen to her tell the story of seeing this magnificent painting for the first time and hear Director Julián Zugazagoitia describe how it came to hang in the museum.
